Can I forward a profile to a friend?

Yes, we've just added this feature to our website. Everybody who joins SpeedDater or SpeedDater Online now has a unique web address for their profile in the format www.speeddateronline.co.uk/screenname

Can I put up Pictures that only my friends can see?

You can post up to 12 pictures with SpeedDater. The first one cannot be flagged for friends only, and should be a picture of you. Pictures 2-12 can be flagged for friends only - you chose who you list as a friend. You need to upload your picture first, then select 'for friends only' so that the words "for friends only" appears under the heading for that picture.

Can I upload a picture to my profile, from my mobile phone?

This is not possible at the moment, however, we will be adding this feature to our website soon. Keep checking.

Does your account have the wrong Gender status?

Members are not allowed to change gender status by themselves. If you have a compelling reason to change your gender status (like you made a mistake when registering), please contact us.

How can I update my Location?

To update your location:
1. Click on the "my account" link in menu.
2. Click on the "General Details" link in Profile block.
3. Enter your new location and press on the "update" button.

How do I change my Pictures?

You can change your pictures at any time by simply uploading new ones. At the moment this service is free, but we do process all pictures manually, so please do not treat the site as a free photo-album! If too many members change their pictures as the site grows we may introduce a charge, or allow pictures to be changed once per renewal. Once you have updated new pictures please make sure you clear your computer's cache. Otherwise, you may find that your old photographs are displayed...even though the rest of the members are seeing the new pictures you have loaded. This can be done in Internet Explorer from Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Temporary Files. It normally takes about a day to process your pictures. We will mail you to let you know that we have received them and then again once they are loaded.

How do I remove my Pictures?

If for some reason you want to remove your pictures simply replace them in "my picture" in "my account" section.

How do I upload a digital picture to my profile?

We accept all the following file formats: jpeg, gif, tiff , bmp and others. We accept a maximum of 8M per photo and a maximum of 10 photos in your profile. We check every picture before it is published and will not post pictures of children or pictures of clipart or screensavers. Click here to upload your picture today!
If the photo did not appear on your profile at once, don't click the "Add" button more than once. The delay may be caused by the large size of the image being uploaded. A low connection speed may also result in a delay.

To upload your photo using your mobile phone please follow these simple procedures: 1. Update your profile to include your mobile phone number. You can do this by going to My Account | general and then enter your mobile number in the relevant box and chose update. 2. Take a photo with your phone or locate one you have already taken. 3. Send the photo and add the text SD via MMS to 0781 461 2498 using the same phone you have registered with us. 4. Your photo will then be applied to your profile.

How long does it take to have my Profile/Picture(s) approved?

Usually 15-20 minutes is enough to approve your photo. Our Approval team works 24 hours a day to ensure that you don't need to wait and lose the potential contacts.

How many people can I add to 'My friends'?

You can add as many people as you want to your friends list. Just click on the 'Add to friends' button on their profile to add them to your list of friends. If you haven't made any friends yet, go to 'Search Members' and find a friend!

I don't have a digital photograph of myself. Can you help?

Not everyone has a scanner or digital camera, so if this is you, and you do not have a digital image, you can post us a picture. We will scan it in and upload it for you. Send your pictures to EasyDate Ltd (SD)

I'm being asked for a nickname. What is this for?

It is your nickname that you would like others to know you by.

I'm having trouble uploading a photograph?

From the members home page click the 'My Profile' button. Just click the upload button and browse on your computer to find where the photograph is stored (often in the 'my pictures' folder), and click upload. The photograph must be in jpeg format and the file name must end with .jpg. If you have trouble uploading or you have a picture in a different format (eg word documents, bmp, tiff etc) you can email your pictures to pix@speeddateronline.co.uk and we will upload them for you.

I'm having trouble using Chat on your website?

First clear out your temporary internet files. To do this, log onto the internet and select 'tools' then 'internet options'. Delete your temporary files and clear your internet history. Now select the General Tab. Click settings and set your browser to 'Check for new pages every visit'. Restart your computer.

If that doesn't work make sure you have cookies enabled on your computer. To do this go to Tools, Internet Options from your browser and select the Privacy tab. Next click on the Advanced button under privacy and tick the boxes to accept first and third party cookies and to always allow session cookies. Then click OK.

Another reason you may be having difficulties with chat is 'pop-up blockers'. If you have a pop up blocker (there will be a yellow strip along the top of the browser) click on the yellow line and select 'always allow pop ups from this site'.

I've been given some membership to SpeedDater Online. Has my card been charged?

We have probably given you a free trial to SpeedDater Online. Your card will never be charged without your explicit permission. Please note that the membership is on repeat billing and will renew after the month membership is near the end. You will need to cancel this if you do not wish to be charged.

I've filled in a profile but when I do a search I can't seem to find myself on the site?

When you are logged in on your own profile you cannot see yourself in the search results. Only other members can see your profile from the list

Is it a good idea to upload a photograph?

Yes, we can't over emphasize how important it is to include a photograph. Profiles with photographs generate ten times more interest. Many people will not reply to profiles without pictures on principle.
And if you've attended a SpeedDater event, a good picture will remind people who you are.

Someone is sending me offensive flirts. Can I block them?

Yes, just go to read the flirt and you will see a link underneath which says 'block flirts'. Just click the link.

When I click the back button after viewing a profile I get an error message?

Go to Tools/Internet Options and click the delete files button in the middle of the dialog box then check the box to 'delete all offline content'. To prevent this happening again (and it will effect other websites not just SpeedDater Online) set 'Days to keep pages in history' to five or less.

Why was my Picture(s) denied?

Profiles with a photo get much more attention than incomplete profiles, so it's important to know the reasons why it can be denied. First of all, we don't accept clipart, graphics, drawings and landscape photos as a profile photo. Children's photos are unacceptable as well as photos of animals and acts of violence. One of the most frequent situation is uploading a female photo for a male profile and vice versa. If you indicated the wrong gender during the registration process, please don't try to upload a photo as it will be declined anyway. All you need to do is re-register indicating the correct gender.

Will my card be automatically re-billed at the end of my membership?

Only if you ticked one of the 'auto-renewal' options when you upgraded to Platinum membership.
