EasyDate complements its portfolio of services for singles in the UK and Europe through the recent acquisition of SpeedDater.
The acquisition of Speed Dater by EasyDate was the result of a lengthy one year courtship and was completed on 7th March 2008. It can be said that some fools rush in but EasyDate has certainly made sure this marriage is not a spur of the moment one, but a decision based on a serious intention to make this brand grow stronger.
"We believe the Speed Dater brand is in very good hands, leaving us to forge ahead with growing our SpeedBreaks travel business," said Simon Prockter, Director of SpeedBreaks Ltd. Ben Tisdall, who set the original company up with Simon added: "This is a good opportunity for us as we now have the resources necessary to take our SpeedBreaks business to another level."
The directors of EasyDate have been courting a number of dating companies over the past two years, but until now had not found their perfect partner. "SpeedDater are a perfect fit for us", said Sean Wood, Marketing Manager at EasyDate Ltd. "As an extension to our product portfolio the events business is of particular interest as it gives us a whole new range of services to provide to our existing customer base".

The larger companies are expanding through acquisition and forging strategic partnerships, whilst other companies are recognizing synergy with other vertical markets and focusing their efforts there."
