150 Singles to Speed Date Down the Thames for Charity
More than 150 single people will share the hottest date this Christmas and help a good cause on Tuesday 17th December.

Single Belles, taking place on board the Miyuki Maru and sailing from Swan Pier, offers speed dating, dinner, dancing and stand-up comedy entertainment. All proceeds will be used to spread Christmas cheer through Capital Radio's charity, Help a London Child.

Single Belles is a boat party with a difference. To break the ice, guests will have the chance to try out speed dating, an innovative, pressure free, opportunity to find a match in 3 minutes. Speed Dater, London's leading Speed Dating company, will be running three rounds of Speed Dating over the course of the evening. To take part daters will be issued with a scorecard. They then get to date between fifteen and twenty people in a series of three-minute dates. You just mark on the scorecard who you would like to see again and if there's a match (ie the person you ticked has ticked you too) Speed Dater will pass on email addresses within 48 hours.

But because Single Belles is on a boat there's a great opportunity to carry on chatting with the people you've just speed dated. Ben Tisdall co-founder of Speed Dater said. 'It's like going to a party and being properly introduced to everybody, rather than relying on your ability to sidle up to people you like the look of.'

Speed Dating will be followed by dinner, dancing and entertainment hosted by a stand up comedian providing lots of opportunities to meet new people and have a top night out.

Organiser Lynn Davies commented: "My friends and I often moan about our hectic lives and not having the chance to change our single status, but the idea of going to a dating agency just makes me wince. So I thought I would organise the kind of event that I would want to go to, where everyone would feel comfortable, have a good night and meet other young single people in a pressure-free way. I came up with the idea of a Christmas party called Single Belles and it just snowballed from there."

Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis and can be booked online at www.singlebelles.co.uk. Early booking is recommended. And for anyone who books before the 6th December pays just £22 per person for the whole evening including dinner. Thereafter the price goes up to £30.
