I was in a horrendous abusive marriage until 2.5 years ago. My self esteem and confidence took a real knock. I quickly signed back up for 3 days and sent him a message. It turned out he lived 10 minutes away and we had loads in common. I joined SpeedDater Online after having been along to lots of speedater nights, and after only one week had been swamped with about forty messages.

I found five really nice guys who I started chatting to.After exchanging emails at work for a while I decided to take the plunge and meet one of them. I turned up for our "date" and unfortunately we really didn't get on. Rather dispirited I tried again, but there was no spark.

So when guy number three, Simon, suggested we meet I was very reluctant. Also, and I know this is shallow, he didn't really look like my type in his picture, I thought I would just politely decline, but he was so funny and friendly I agreed to just one quick drink after work on a week night, expecting the worst. He walked in, came over to me and I couldn't believe my luck, he was gorgeous! He looked nothing like his picture, good thing I did, or we'd never have found each other.
